Second showroom presentation as part of the WindNODE project

On September 3, 2018, a second showroom presentation took place at the GridLab GmbH training center in Schönefeld as part of the WindNODE work package* "New market design and design of the yellow traffic light phase". Project participants from the University of Leipzig and GridLab presented the development status of new ancillary services market mechanisms with a total of nine participants from Siemens, TU Berlin, Entelios and New Capital Energy Invest GmbH, among others. Using the SCADA-based dispatcher training simulator, it was then possible to visualize the bottleneck-relieving mode of operation of a large-scale power-to-heat system using the current transmission network. In addition, the future network structure for the 50Hertz control area, newly implemented in the dispatcher training simulator for the year 2030, was presented for the first time, enabling dispatchers to test the use of new future- and market-oriented network security measures as the project progressed. The showroom day was concluded with an intensive discussion of the participants on the possible future ancillary services market mechanisms. The next showroom appointment will again take place on 11th March 2019 from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the GridLab Dispatcher Training Centre, please reserve your place now with your request for participation at info@gridlab.de .

* WindNODE is kindly supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) as a ‘Smart Energy Showcase’ (SINTEG) for the period 2017 – 2020. The objective is the system integration of large volumes of renewable energy while also keeping the power grids stable. Over 70 WindNODE partners work together on transferable model solutions, which can also move the energy transition forward outside of the WindNODE region.
